Adopting From Us

When you are ready to adopt, learn the Central Illinois Puppyland simple and straightforward adoption process. We'll make this process the easiest part of your search for your new family member.

Research Your Puppy

Picking out a puppy is like picking out a new family member. We want each one of our puppies to live a good life with an amazing family. We encourage your family to do your research to not only understand the different breeds and their specific traits, but to also take time to get to know us, the breeder, and whether or not we are the right fit for your family.

We love getting to know you to ensure that your puppy is a great fit for you and your family. That’s why before placing a deposit, we ask that you please get in touch with us and let us answer any additional questions. We want to you find the perfect puppy.

Reserve Your Puppy

Once we’ve answered all your questions and have helped you decide which puppy is the right one for you the next step is to reserve your puppy with a non-refundable deposit of $500.

To reserve your puppy, simply click on the Available Puppies page and find your specific puppy's litter. Click on the adopt me link next to the puppy you wish to reserve. You will then be taken to the PayPal link where you can pay the deposit fee.

Why PayPal? We use this method because it offers buyer and seller protection so that you can have peace of mind about your purchase. 

Our deposits are transferable which means you may transfer your deposit to reserve another available puppy in any litter or a different breed, including any upcoming litters we have announced. 

If all our puppies happen to be reserved, you may be added to a waitlist for the next upcoming litters.

Bringing Puppy Home

If you live within driving distance and plan to pick up your new puppy in person, we will contact you to decide on a travel date and time. Once an appointment has been made, we will stay in contact to avoid a long waiting period upon arrival.

Your puppy will go home with:

• A one-year health guarantee                                                               
• Health records
• Registration application
• Small bag of food
• Collar and leash
• Small blanket that smells like their littermates and mother       

Your final payment will be due at the time of collection. The preferred payment method is cash and we regret that we are unable to accept checks of any kind. In some circumstances we can accept credit card via PayPal invoicing, there will be a 3% fee for this service. We encourage you to arrive prepared with the correct amount of cash to ensure a smooth transaction. 

Shipping Your Puppy

If you don’t live near us, or would prefer to have your puppy shipped to you, we can make the arrangements.

Many people worry about the potential risks of flying a puppy via air cargo. We have shipped puppies all over the USA and have had 100% success with this due to rigorous health checks and high standards.

Of course, puppies can and do catch colds and minor illnesses while in transit, whether they travel in a car or on an airplane. Before your puppy is shipped, he/she must undergo an additional wellness check with the vet to confirm they are fit to fly.

When your puppy is shipped from our facility, he or she will travel in a crate with food and water. Paperwork, a collar, leash, and blanket will be attached to the exterior of the crate. 

Our preferred payment method for shipping is PayPal and payment of your balance is due 72 hours before the travel date.

We have started working with Puppy Nannies and several Ground Couriers. If you are interested in that option we will forward their contact info to you. They work on their own schedules and will set up a travel date with you.

Settling In     

The first few weeks of having your new puppy home are important. Establish a routine, help your puppy settle in, and start implementing some light training. Remember that your puppy will need time to get used to you and his/her new environment.

At just 8 weeks old he/she have a lot of growing, learning, and socializing to do. When training a puppy, patience and consistency are key. The training process is not a one size fits all do plenty of research even the simplest changes can help so much.

Training

At this time we do not offer specialized training packages. We do highly recommend that you find an experienced trainer in your local area.

We have a trainer in the Illinois area that will do preliminary training with the puppies and deliver them to you after they have graduated his/her program.
